5 THINGS TO KNOW: 49ERS ‘FOOTBALL FOR ALL’ GAMEDAY CELEBRATION

Friday, August 16, 2024

In the San Francisco 49ers Week 2 preseason game against the New Orleans Saints, the team will spotlight the diversity of the Bay Area, the Faithful and those who work in the sports industry with the 49ers “Football for All” celebration. On Sunday, the 49ers will commemorate identity and cultural inclusiveness with unique in-game activations as the team prepares for the 2024 regular season.

“As an organization, we know that we have a diverse fan base here in the Bay Area and across the world,” 49ers senior director of game presentation and live events Laura Johnson said. “We want anyone coming to the game to experience an event that celebrates diversity and inclusion, hopefully inspiring others to pursue one of the many sports and entertainment careers out there in addition to being a professional athlete.”

Here’s what to look for in Sunday night’s “Football for All” game:

An All-Female In-Stadium Public Address Announcer Team

For the second time at a 49ers game, Levi’s® Stadium will host an all-female in-stadium public address announcer team. The duo will feature play-by-play announcer Jaime Coffee and entertainment announcer Queen Noveen. Coffee is an emcee based in Northern California who holds more than two decades of broadcast experience. Noveen is an actor, live announcer and voiceover artist who has been featured in documentaries, TV and theater productions.

The National Anthem by Erisa Nicole

Smooth jazz saxophonist Erisa Nicole has been captivating audiences with her soulful sounds for many years. She has since developed a signature sound that blends elements of jazz, soul, funk, and R&B. This Sunday, she will take the stage before kickoff to perform the National Anthem alongside Elayna from 49ers Gold Rush as the performance’s ASL interpreter.

Color Guard: Native American Women Warriors

Before the matchup, members of the Native American Women Warriors Association (NAWW) will be presenting our nation’s colors as the color guard. NAWW is a nonprofit organization supporting active duty and retired Native American servicewomen through readjustment assistance, cultural support, mental health services, and career readiness.

Junior Gold Rush Halftime Performance

This Sunday’s halftime entertainment will feature over 500 Junior Gold Rush cheerleaders from all around California and beyond. The 49ers Junior Gold Rush is a community program designed to promote self-esteem, team building and fitness in youth ages six to fourteen. These aspiring cheerleaders will have a special opportunity to perform alongside the Gold Rush cheerleaders at Levi’s® Stadium.

Verified Faithful

Cheering on the 49ers in their preseason matchup are some Bay Area social media personalities and celebrities. San Francisco artist and activist La Doña, Panamanian rap duo Los Rakas and digital host Ryan Mitchell a.k.a. “TheSlayGawd” are just a few influencers who will be a part of the team’s Verified Faithful on gameday.
