SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES RETURN TO LEVI’S® STADIUM FOR A CINCO DE MAYO CELEBRATION
The San Jose Earthquakes are returning to Levi’s® Stadium on Saturday, May 4, for the largest Cinco de Mayo celebration in Northern California.
San Jose will face the Los Angeles Football Club in front of one of the biggest crowds of the year. Levi’s® Stadium will open to its full capacity of 68,500 seats for the match, as the Quakes look to build upon last year’s success when over 45,000 fans packed the stadium for the Cinco de Mayo celebration.
“I’m very excited to be back here at Levi’s® Stadium,” Earthquakes midfielder Cristian Espinoza said. “It’s a beautiful stadium, especially in front of all the fans… It is a really good field. Last year was amazing and hopefully this year will be amazing too.”
“This game certainly couldn’t come at a better time for us, to be in this environment which we enjoyed so much last year,” Earthquakes head coach Luchi Gonzalez added. “The stadium, this fan base and this community… This is a game we take personal. It doesn’t matter the points, the table. This is about on a given night who wants it more and we’re excited for this opportunity to play LAFC.”
The festivities will extend beyond the pitch to celebrate Mexican heritage. Levi’s® Stadium will host a full day of activations including a fan fest before the match, live performances from San Jose natives Sueñatrón, a variety of Mexican cuisine, a special appearance by San Francisco 49ers All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner, a halftime show by Marca MP and more.
The Quakes fan fest will include meet-and-greet opportunities with Mexico National Team legend Oswaldo Sánchez, Salinas fighter Ruben Villa, Reynoso and Soltero of The Give N Go Podcast, social media sensations San Jose Foos and TikTok stars Rico and The Mars Family.
“It’s going to be beautiful to us no matter what,” Gonzalez said. “I had my first experience here last year, and it was incredible. Just the support, the intensity, the energy. The players love this field, they love the stadium, they love this locker room and they love the environment that we know we’re going to have on Saturday. So, we want to show respect to it, we want to honor it with our heart, with our intensity and energy to perform and bring our best on Saturday.”
Gates open at 2:30pm PT, with kickoff set for 4:30pm PT at Levi’s® Stadium. Don’t miss out on the largest Cinco de Mayo celebration in Northern California, get your tickets here.
