CFB Week 11 Recap

The second weekend of November caused some chaos in both the Pac-12 and Big Ten with upsets telling the story in an action-packed slate of games.

Utah (8-2, 5-2) RB Joe Williams rushed for 181 yards and two touchdowns to help lead the Utes past Arizona State (5-5, 2-5).

Penn State (8-2, 6-1) QB Trace McSorely threw for 322 yards and three touchdowns (two passing, one rushing) as the Nittany Lions outscored Indiana (5-5, 3-4) 24-7 in the fourth quarter to earn their sixth consecutive victory.

Wisconsin (8-2, 5-2) RB Corey Clement rushed for 123 yards and three touchdowns as Wisconsin annihilated Illinois (3-7, 2-5).

Michigan State (3-7, 1-6) QB Tyler O’Connor threw for 141 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Spartans over Rutgers (2-8, 0-7).

Northwestern (5-5, 4-3) QB Clayton Thorson threw for 352 yards and three touchdowns plus a rushing touchdown as the Wildcats took care of Purdue (3-7, 1-6).

Ohio State’s (9-1, 6-1) offense racked up 581 yards while the defense held Maryland (5-5, 2-5) to only three points.

Nebraska (8-2, 5-2) QB Tommy Armstrong Jr. accounted for all three Cornhusker touchdowns to help his team edge Minnesota (7-3, 4-3).

Iowa (6-4, 4-3) K Keith Duncan connected on a 33-yard field goal as time expired to lead the Hawkeyes to the upset of Michigan (9-1, 6-1).

Stanford (7-3, 5-3) RB Christian McCaffrey led the way for the Cardinal with 135 yards and three touchdowns as the rejuvenated Cardinal blasted Oregon (3-7, 1-6).

USC (7-3, 6-2) QB Sam Darnold threw for 287 yards and two touchdowns as the Trojans upset Washington (9-1, 6-1).

UCLA (4-6, 2-5) CB Randall Goforth’s pick-six late in the fourth quarter sealed the victory for the Bruins over Oregon State (2-8, 1-6).  UCLA needs wins over USC, Cal for bowl eligibility.

Colorado (8-2, 6-1) RB Phillip Lindsay rushed for 199 yards and three touchdowns, leading the Buffaloes past Arizona (2-8, 0-7).
