New Santa Clara Stadium
The new Santa Clara Stadium hit a major construction milestone when it “topped out” Thursday, December 6, 2012. The Topping Out Ceremony commemorated the uppermost structural steel beams erected at the highest point of the stadium, which happens to be just above the Suite Tower. 49ers CEO Jed York, Santa Clara Mayor Jamie Matthews and hundreds of construction workers were on hand to sign the beams and watch as they are hoisted to the top of the building.
Over the next several months, luxury suite owners will begin to see the Suite Tower take shape. The Santa Clara stadium is one of the first new NFL stadium designs to offer the Suite Tower configuration. By eliminating stacked suites on the east side of the stadium, two-thirds of the total seating capacity will be in the lower bowl with improved sightlines in the upper bowl as opposed to the traditional suite level that encircles the field.
“The Suite Tower offers more suites with yard line views,” said Al Guido, Vice President of Sales and Service for Legends Sales & Marketing, the company selected by the Stadium Authority to market the seating. “In addition, the Bay Area weather allows even our suite patrons to enjoy the spectacular sightlines from open-air suites. Having the majority of suites on the west side of the venue also provides increased customer service and convenient access to the best parking.”
Suites are on three levels of the tower with countless amenities and extras for guests. A handful of suites will be at field-level and include access to areas where players enter and leave the field during normal game breaks. Premium club areas are also on the west side of the stadium with access through a private entrance.
A 27,000 square foot green roof will be located on top of the Suite Tower. It will feature vegetation native to the Bay Area, and will lower cooling/heating needs as it helps to regulate ambient temperatures in the Suite Tower. The roof is accessible to suite and Club Seat holders before, during and after games. The area will double as year-round event space and can host 500-700 people, while delivering fantastic views of the surrounding valley.
The luxury suites include first-class amenities such as Italian porcelain tile flooring, fully upholstered theater-style seating, multiple flat-screen monitors, custom cabinetry, polished quartz countertops, a sustainable sourced bamboo wood buffet counter, Internet access and numerous other features.
